The Ecosystem

Afzaal Mauthoor is not a tech evangelist. He is what happens when a neuroscientist, nature conservationist, and deep tech futurist collide.
Armed with a BSc in Biochemistry & Neuroscience and an MSc in Environmental Law & Biodiversity Conservation, Afzaal began his career at the intersection of natural systems and human law, contributing to Marine Park legislation in Mauritius and pioneering wildlife conservation protocols in Borneo and Africa. He understands, at a molecular level, how nature engineers intelligence.
That foundation became the lens through which he decoded every technology that followed. From exposure to emerging tech during his work in China to co-founding a blockchain payments company backed by the world’s largest Web3 VC, to architecting tokenised carbon credit systems, to building over 250 tech start-ups in London, to training over 5,000 business owners to navigate entrepreneurship and emerging tech — Afzaal has spent two decades doing one thing exceptionally well: simplifying the genius that is innovation. Nurturing humans to house an innovative mind.
Today, as a strategist at Brdge, a London-based AI consultancy, and Chief Business Development Office at GMF(Mauritius/ Ghana) — a renewable energy engineering group solving Africa’s infrastructure challenges, and General Partner at Venture Capital firm BridgCapital (Dubai), he operates at the frontier where artificial intelligence and blockchain, metaverse meets real-world consequences.
His methodology, Simplify Genius, is built on a single belief: that the barrier to super intelligence is never the technology itself. It is the human mind, still running on industrial-age programming.

In this session, Afzaal Mauthoor takes us on a brief history of the future. We’ll explore why nature—the original engineer—holds the blueprints for the next era of innovation.
From the intelligence encoded in natural systems to the architectures of machine learning, we will discuss:
